This trip (Thursday 17 – Monday 21 July 2025) is open to club members exclusively until the end of February whereafter it will be opened to non-members as well if the numbers are below 20.

 Rates are unchanged from last year.

4-night weekend in ‘chalets’: R4,400 per room (2 people,).  R1,900 per person above 2 people. There are 5 ‘chalets’ available each of which has 2 rooms, 3 beds & mattresses – an extra mattress can be arranged if necessary.

4-night weekend camping: R1,700 per person

Please note that children under the age of 12 are half price whilst those under 6 are free.

These prices are for the weekend allocation irrespective of actual days stayed.

A Non-Refundable 50% Deposit to be paid before end February 2025. If someone has paid the deposit and is then unable to make it AND trip is fully subscribed the deposit will be refunded by Tembe HOs.

Balance to be paid 8 weeks before start of trip. (22nd May 2025)

Unfortunately, Ezemvelo now requires that ALL entrants to the park pay the normal gate fees; these are a one off for the trip and are: (Gold Rhino Cards and Wild Cards are Valid)

No charge for trailers.

International visitors: R140pp

 

For those who have been to Ponweni camp before, the camp has been significantly enlarged to the south and east resulting a much more spacious campsite with more shaded sites. The hot water system for the showers (inside and outside) has also been upgraded.

Communal water borne ablutions and showers (Solar heating)
No mains power.

Maximum of 20 people or 10 Vehicles (kids count as adults) for this purpose.

This is a fund raiser as far as Tembe is concerned! ‘Chalets’ are brick under tile. Each chalet consists of two rooms (pass through the first room to get to second room) with 3 beds – 4 beds can be arranged but it is a bit squashed.

Kitchen available with gas stove, 2 fridges and chest deep freeze.

No mains power.  ONLY off-road trailers are allowed. NO off-road caravans! Malaria area Big five reserve and access to the Northern parts of park is normally allowed though NOT guaranteed. (Northern part is off limits to normal visitors)

If 10 vehicles or 20 people have already registered, you may add yourself to the Waiting List! No deposit is required. If a space becomes available, you will be notified and required to pay the deposit, or if it's within the 8 weeks before, then the full amount.
