Bhanga Nek 2016
The club had a trip to Bhanga Nek in November where we were able to see two loggerhead turtles on the beach. One was laying eggs and were able watch to the accompaniment of an approaching storm with dramatic lightning flashes. Very exciting.
We will be returning to the same campsite in February to (hopefully) see the hatchlings as they make their way to the sea. We will be leaving Pietermaritzburg on Thursday the 18th of February and returning on Sunday the 21st.
The campsite is rustic and close to the beach. The chalets are reed walls under thatch on raised wooden floors. Ablutions are private or communal depending on chalet (see below) and based on water born sewerage.
