Long Pool Camp General Info.

Thank you for booking at Long Pool Camp. Here are a few notes:
= Check in time is from 1pm and before 5pm.
Check out is at 10am.
These times are variable, but please check with Management beforehand.
Sunday checkouts are generally at your leisure unless we have others coming in.
= If you are using our tents, please bring your own linen and pillows. Also camping lights as there is no electricity in the tents.
If you wish to use the kitchen area for cooking and wish to use the crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, an extra charge of R 50 pp is due. Cleaning up after yourselves at all times is a must unless you employ the services of the cleaning lady.
= The kitchen and lounge area are communal so please keep it tidy and clean. For covid precautions, please use this area one family, or one person at a time.
= The same applies to the ablutions.
= The above areas rely on solar, not Eskom, so please put the lights off after use. The solar does die during the night, so please take your torches to use the ablutions.
= We make the donkey for you, to ensure there is always hot water. Please don't add wood, or take wood or coals from the donkey fire. Please keep children away from the donkey fire.
= The most dangerous animal on the farm are the cows, so please use caution when on hikes or when you bring your dog with you. We do sometimes feed the warthog, but they are not tame so please don't approach them.
Please check yourselves for ticks. You will find many anti tick products on the market. Mozzies are not a problem.
= Please only use the drinking water from the container in the kitchen and not from the taps for drinking and cooking.
= You can hire a maid to wash your dishes at R170 per day.
= We sell wood at R80 per wheelbarrow or R350 per bakkie load. Let us know beforehand if you need wood. In the rainy season we sometimes do not have wood. Please bring your charcoal.
- We sell ice if you pre-order it, but prefer if you bring your own.
-The river is not always swimmable, depending on the river level. Please check with management before any water activities. Please bring your own flotation devices. (Non-mechanical).
= There are firepits, but please bring your own braai stands.
= All activities are undertaken at your own risk.
= Cell signal is intermittent. There is no wifi either. For emergency phone calls the cell signal at Nyala Pan's is okay.
= We do not allow loud music, unless you have booked out the entire camp site.
= The weather is unpredictable in the valley, please pack clothes for all seasons. Winter has pleasant days, but chilly nights.
= We do not tolerate littering of any kind.

Please enjoy our little bit of Africa as much as we do and leave with many happy memories made.
